Does Oprah DENY Jesus? You decide…
April 17, 2008 4:40 am IssuesYou may have heard much of the “buzz” about Oprah lately - and I’m not talking about the Presidential Race. This is much more important.
I’ve heard people speculate about Oprah’s faith and beliefs for a while now. She was pretty hard to peg down. The video below may help shed some light on the subject. This is just one of many videos online discussing the subject. Watch it, and answer this question: DOES OPRAH DENY JESUS?

I think that Oprah is correct in what she said…people are raised with different “higher powers”, and not to recognize that, is quite ignorant, as far as I am concerned…what is good for one person, may not work for another…

I believe that the Church of Oprah had begun to slowly and in a very subtle and sympathetic way lead people away from THE way, THE truth and THE life. It’s all about the ONE WORLD religion that has slowly started to overtake our society…and that of Europe and the Asian countries. If we are truly believers in Jesus who is the Christ, we must also believe that this sort of religious warping has to occur for Jesus to return. And so we say Come Lord Jesus Come.

I really do not care whether Opra belives in Jesus or not. I do no listen to her and will not have to answer for her soul. God gives us the right to choose and promises that there will be consequences for the choice that we make.

Jan, I do not deny her the right to believe anything. But to say there is no God named Jesus and many ways to get to haven is a lie. That error has to be corrected! You just cant let people lie or pass a lie on, because if you say a lie long and hard people will believe the lie. And what does that say about christen who are support to up hold the truth.How about the division of Church and State that say its in the construction of the USA and it is NOT!

Years ago, I was brought up as a Catholic through high school. At the time we were taught that the only ones getting to the next world were the Catholics…Since then, I have come to believe that if we are truly on a course of the “Golden Rule” we won’t be kicked out of our final resting place. This is more a philosophical difference than a religious difference.

Marlene you are right! Oprah is not saying she doesn’t believe in Jesus. She is saying, if the others would have listen they would have heard it to, that if somebody somewhere in the world is living a life of that Jesus preached and didn’t know Jesus’s name he would still enter God’s house. Frankly, I am fed up with people trying to force their beliefs on others. Have you ever heard of COEXIST. I have a magnet on my car with this word. It has many religious symbols on it including Jewish, Wicca, Islam. It means if everyone would just accept that people have other beliefs, we would have no wars and be more loving. So please people, listen to God and respect others as he wants us to. Do not judge.

In the bible Jesus says”No one goes to God except through him” Jesus died on the cross for a reason if you ignore what He says His purpose was for not….In the bible it also states everyone will hear about God its what you do with that that makes a difference God will not force Himself on you,but you will know He Is..there is no question about that and its an insult to say He comes in many forms He is, Always was, And Always will Be There is only One God..That is the first commandment.

What I truly love about this country (Canada & U.S.A.) is that I am not forced to watch Oprah nor could I ever be. The truth of Christ as our Saviour is so clear should anyone take the time to read the scriptures. Our world is in a most precarious state and all because we (governments everywhere) have very simply turned our backs on God. Accordingly - God will continue to allow us to screw up until we reach the point of human extinction and it is then Christ will return with Almighty God giving his Spirit to all. For those who then reject Christ - “bye - bye” for all eternity. But those who then (or already have) accept the Lord Jesus as their Saviour - life eternal in an environment too glorious for words. I pray for all.

I understand what Oprah is saying. I am trying to walk the Red Path as an American Indian. I believe that no matter what you call God( Supreme Being, Great Spirit, etc.) If you acknowledge that your life is not a ramdom or by chance event, and you believe that there is a higher power that you can tap into when you need strength you are working toward being with God in the life after. Each person is given the freedom of choice and freedom of religion. The blood of Christ is the cleansing power that you must acknowledge and follow. No man can reach the eternal Father unless you first are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. That is the only way to make it but the path has many branches to follow. If you believe that there is only one way to get to Heaven, then you have to be concerned that it may NOT be your way…Are you then guaranteed that your way is the only way.

Carol sound all good to let people believe what that want and we should all just accept that including Jewish, Wicca, Islam. It means if everyone would just accept that people have other beliefs, we would have no wars and be more loving well you are WRONG! The other religion like Muslim believe all christens and Jewish should die so that can go the heaven. Or Wicca believe in the down fall of Christians and Jesus, and the list goes on. Look people here it is if you don’t stand up for your believes that will be taken away, that is why in Roman after Jesus death Christian went under ground, Christians were killed for what that believe in JESUS! It is obvious more than Oprah needs to get into the Word of God which, for Oprah and some of you, can be found in the Bible which can be picked up at a place called a book store. Jesus said that people who reject Him “reject the one who sent me.” Even Satan himself knows that. The Bible also says that if you are of God you hear God’s words and

We have the choice to receive God’s gift of grace and covering being covered with Christ’s righteousness or rejecting. I think organized religions and people who argue over scriptures are a real big part of what is wrong with life as we know it. I call it RELIOCENTRICISM.
Those who do not accept OUR doctrine are outsiders,enemies and outcasts. People start with an innocent enough searching for truth and search for God but lose their love as time goes on while judging “outsiders”. Perceptions of others becomes ugly and sanctimonious.
I will honestly TRY to believe in a religion, but as the Christian Bible says, “you only need faith the size of a mustard seed”. This I can honestly say that I have….so I guess I am OK and my honesty will be rewarded by God…if this is the case. I think God will understand all the confusion we find ourselves in with this subject.
Honesty or faith?? I will side with honesty. Live your life and give away whatever you can afford to. This is the way.

I guess when god gave her the body she had, it was not good enough. Soo she took it to the body shop to get customized. Now she believes there are different ways to get there. Money will not buy her a better seat she already had in heaven. I was taught that money used the wrong way was evil. I think all christians were taught that.

Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the light, and that no man comes to the father except through me. Is Oprah calling Jesus a liar? Is this what Rev. Wright taught her? The bible says children are innocent because of their lack of understanding good and evil. Someone who has never heard of Jesus is still a sinner and seperated from God. We are called to spread the gospel of Jesus and if Oprah would commit herself to help do that than there would be fewer people for us to worry about going to hell.

I believe oprah thinks she is justified to talk without thinking clearly. She believes because she is a trillionare, everybody who is wealthy as her is ok in the sight of her Goe, whom ever her god is. In other words, even though we live our lives to please mostly ourselves, which is selffish in itself. We cannont help the way our individual brains think or feel. Even though someone feels that something is wrong, according to the standard of the holy being, it is hard to think and feel the way the world would want us to feel. As we are born, we did not choose our eye color or skin color, that is just the way nature intended us to look and what ever you dislike of yourself you can change through modern technology, but in reality you are who you were born to be. Oprah thinks that it is her destiny to be who she is by her own creator, if it’s Jesus or another God. It goes to show, that we really do not know what’s on the otherside, even though some people profess to say they know. I thinl Oprah is feeling and thinking that there is more than one God. She claims to believe she knows it all. But after all. The creator who made us has the lasdt word. And, in reality, i believe we do not know exactly where we will end up after this life. Oprah thinks she knows where she will go. Good for her. That’s why therer are so mane color of people and so many languages. Teaching all aspects of life through different interpertation. So in reality we really dont know where we aregoing after we pass this earthly life.

I have to say after reading all of these comments that I am very sad. I was raised without a constant religion. I have been to many different places of worship and to many ceremonies. Oprah does a lot of things I do not like but I do not think she is denying Jesus. She is only allowing for the possibility that the Bible written by christians for christians is not the only way to be received by your Creator. I have felt the presents of God in many places. I pray in private. I have a very great consciousness. I hope that the Creator I pray to acknoldges my efforts in a world that is becoming increasingly hard to live in. Quite honestly I believe we are living in hell on earth.

I believe Opra did not deny Christ. I agree with Robin. Jesus died for the world so we could be forgiven our sins. I believe there are religions that truely are inspired by the Holy Spirit and have truth and light. I wonder at times if my Lord Jesus isn’t known by a different name in other contries and cultures. I don’t believe a God that loves me as much as Jesus would send people to Hell just because they don’t follow main stream Christianity. A Christianity that has been interpreted so much by man that it is different in all the sects. Pray and listen to the spirit and quit listening to men’s interpretation of what Jesus said.

The belief that there are many ways to heaven is certainly not a new one. However, the Bible(God’s inspired Word), says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. There is no other way. Man looks on the outward appearence but God sees the heart. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentence. God knows that man in Africa who has never heard the name of Jesus, and God is not willing that he should perish. We are the light of the world. It is the responsibility of Christians to spread the gospel to those who are unreached.
Opra is wrong. But you must admit that it far more comfortable to believe that God has created more than one way for man to reach heaven. This way we don’t have to reach the world. We just have to hope that everyone wants to be a good person, and find there own way. It is rediculous. But is eye opening. If your a Christian, this could be your wakeup call. Each one must reach one.

I like Oprah. That is why it grieves me that we are having this discussion. For those of you that keep saying that Oprah does not reject Jesus, you are mistaken. When Oprah says that there is more than one path to God, she is rejecting Jesus. Jesus says in John 14.6, “I am the way,the truth and the life, and one comes to the Father except through me. There is no other path. Furthermore, I am offended that Oprah would even think that God would even be reduced to be jealous of her. This statement shows her arrogance as well as her ignorance. Or maybe because she considers herself a god, then I guess He wold be jealous, because He said, “I WILL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.” I have decided that I will no longer be an Oprah viewer, because I cannnot watch someone who I know openly rejects my Jesus, the one who saved me and gave me a purpose in life, which is, to live for Him.

I am a Christian and I must say I came to accept JESUS by the wooing of the Holy Spirit not because I was bible bashed by those who call themselves loving Christians. In all things Christians should pray and trust (that is have faith) that God will do the work of shining light and bringing others to repentance. I can assure you if you just focused on the sick, homeless, widowed, abused, imprisoned, and hungry within a 30 mile radius of your church you would not have time to judge Oprah or any one else. Demonstrate Christ by accepting others where they are and showing love…..practice what you preach.

All of you who are saying that Oprah did’nt deny Jesus should read the Bible! If there was another way Jesus would have told us about it. Jesus said “NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME” If there was another way than Jesus would not have had to suffer and die on the cross.
God did not seperate himself from us. We seperated ourselves from him through sin. He respects our choices but if we choose to seperate ourselves frome him than it is illogical to expect to spend eternity with him in heaven. The only alternative is to spend eternity in hell, there are no other alternatives. Understand this, we cannot bridge the gap we have created through sin. Only God can, that was the purpose of Jesus. He lived a sinless life and gave up that life to suffer the penalty of the worlds sin so anyone who accepts his gift is forgiven and has everlasting life with him. That is why the only way to God is through Jesus. You can not live a “good life” and go to heaven. The law of our perfect God says no one who is not PERFECT, WITHOUT BLEMISH can be in the presence of God and don’t fool yourself, YOUR NOT PERFECT and without accepting Jesus, not Muhommad, or Budda etc. you don’t have forgiveness and cannot be forgiven. I pray you will open a bible and your heart and search out the truth. If you do it will not be hidden from you.

Ophra is only an entertainer. She has done a lot of good things in the past for many people.That enables her to have great influence on people with less knowledge and they would be inclined to believe her. I am a fan of Oprah, I think she does alot of good for alot of people. Its disappointing to hear her support the idea of more than one way to get to heaven. Is the idea to hope you do enough good things in life, cross your fingers and go to heaven? The thing that got me awhile back was absolute truth. There has to be one! I believe that stealing is wrong while another person thinks its ok because it what make them happy… So whose right? whos wrong? If you say neither, this world would be utter chaos-

I think that Oprah believes and tries to be INCLUSIVE. This thinking, however, does not agree with Judeo-Christian beliefs. Jesus is the ONE WAY — THE ONLY WAY. Abraham, Moses, and the rest heard directly from God…that was the Old Testament..which was “Law”. The New Testament…which is “Grace”, is what we are under now due to the birth of Jesus.
Remember the story of Moses and the Burning Bush? God spoke directly to Moses. Remember God telling Abraham to leave his kindred? He told Sara and Abraham about a baby they were to have?
The difference is the Law and Grace.

MOST PEOPLE have not and do not study the bible. Opera is certainly one of them.
She ask “what about the people that have never heard of Jesus”? This very question shows that she has only a superficial understanding of the gospel. Jesus clearly addressed this situation. He said, after the resurection that those in the grave have heard his voice and those that accept him and have lived a godly life will inherit eternal life. He also said that there will come a day when all those in the grave will hear his voice and the ones that have lived a godly life and believe him (he shall appear to them) shall rise to eternal life. Opera is spreading another lie that Lucifer started and that is that all roads lead to heaven. Jesus said that he was the way, the truth, and the life and no one cometh to the father except through Him. Satan says ALL ROADS LEAD TO GOD and he is right for we will all stand before God to be judged. However, Jesus said only those who believed in him and obeyed God would meet the father. In other words as Jesus said those who love and obey God is his brother, sister, mother and God is our father. We will be back home.
